You only need two ingredients to prepare these butterfly-shaped puff pastry palms . Yes, yes, you read correctly, only two ingredients: puff pastry and sugar, just like the puff pastry palmeritas that we already taught you how to prepare, much richer than the store bought ones.
They are very easy to prepare, we even encourage you to prepare them with the little ones in the house. I assure you that these puff pastry butterflies will fly off the table like never before, so much so that it’s not a bad idea to make twice as much. They also last several days in a can. For these things, I always have a sheet of puff pastry in the fridge or freezer, you have to see how it works.
Palm Trees Hojaldre
Ingredients
- A sheet of rolled puff pastry
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
How to make puff pastry palm trees
Extend the sheet of puff pastry and spread the sugar over the entire surface. To fold it we draw an imaginary line in the center and fold one side in half and then fold again to the center. With the other side we do the same and then we fold one part over another. Surely seeing the image you understand it much better. Check out more interesting articles on our FUN Blog.
Once we have the puff pastry folded with a knife, we cut slices of one or two centimeters and each slice we make a cut in the center without reaching the end, we open it and turn it over. We have them on a baking tray, with baking paper, separated from each other since they grow quite a bit. Bake for twelve or fifteen minutes at 180º C, when there are five minutes left, turn them over.
We take them out of the oven and as long as they take to cool down… And if you like them on a skewer, you just have to put them on a toothpick before cooking them.
