How to make a homemade number cake
We will start by putting the eggs and the sugar in a bowl, and beat well until it whitens, that is, until the cream is homogeneous, with the sugar well integrated and that it has increased in volume.
Then add the melted margarine and milk. We beat well again to mix everything. We add the lemon zest to aromatize our cake and finally we incorporate the flour and yeast little by little, much better if we do it with the help of a sieve, without stopping stirring the dough, to avoid lumps.
Once we have the mixture prepared, we pour it into the mold, greased and covered with baking paper. To make number 3 as in this case, we will make two biscuits that we will then cut out. The ideal is to use two molds with a central hole type bundt cake, but if you do not have you can use a round mold and place a disposable cup in the middle as we have done. A trick so that the glass does not move during cooking is to place a weight inside it, for example chickpeas.
We take the two molds to the oven (preheated, above and below) at 180º, and bake for approximately 25-30 minutes, placing them at a medium height. A few minutes before the end of the baking time, poke the inside of the cake with a toothpick or a knife to see if it comes out clean. If it comes out with a little dough, we leave it for a few more minutes. Check out more interesting articles on our FUN Blog.
Remove and let cool to room temperature. We unmold carefully.
After cooking we will have two ring-shaped biscuits. To assemble the number, we cut a quarter from one of them to make the bottom part of the number 3 and to make the top part we cut a third from the other. We unite the two parts with a little hazelnut cream.
We cover the whole number with cream and finally we decorate by sticking the chocolate sprinkles on top. To make it more colorful, the ideal is to make diagonal rows alternating colors.
