Oreo-pops for children’s parties | Recipes for Kids

It is a fact that cake pops are the success of all children’s parties . Why? Because they are very colorful, pretty and the little ones love them and have fun. Today, instead of the classic cake pop in the form of lollipops, we will teach you how to prepare Oreo-pops for children’s parties .

These cookie lollipops are super easy to prepare, we have decorated them for a Frozen party , but take note of the preparation and you will see that you can adapt them to any theme party. Decorate them however you want!

The preparation is quite simple, we could say that the most complicated part is preparing the meringue that we will use to coat the cookies, but following our recipe it will be very easy for you and once coated, the little ones can help us with the decoration. Shall we see the step by step?

Oreo-pops for a Frozen party

Ingredients

for about 15 lollipops

  • 15 filled cookies (oreo or similar)
  • 100 g of chocolate topping

Ingredients for the meringue

  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 250 grams of icing sugar
  • 125cc of water
  • 200 grams of sugar

How to prepare Oreo-pops for children’s parties

With the help of a knife and very carefully, we open the cookies, separating the two covers. With a teaspoon, put a little chocolate (previously melted in a bain-marie or in the microwave) on one of the cookies, place the toothpick in the center, put a little more chocolate on top and place the other lid. Let dry, meanwhile prepare the meringue.

To prepare the syrup we put the normal sugar and the water in a small pot. Bring to a boil and once it starts to boil, let it boil for about 4 minutes. The exact point would be when when inserting a fork and letting the syrup fall, we have droplets left on the tips of the fork.

On the other hand, beat the egg white (which should be at room temperature) together with the lemon juice and half the icing sugar. Beat at maximum speed for 5 minutes. Then we incorporate the rest of the sugar little by little until the meringue forms firm peaks. We are throwing the syrup in thread on the meringue, beating constantly, until it takes the right consistency to bathe. The right consistency allows the lollipop to be submerged inside the meringue but when we remove it it does not drip. We place the meringue in a tall and narrow container, so that it is possible to introduce all the biscuit inside. If we wish, we dye with food dyes. We are putting each cookie in the meringue, we lift and tapping with the toothpick on the edge of the container we let the excess fall, we do it until when hitting delicately it no longer falls. We click on a polystyrene base until they dry.

We can decorate with sprinkles while the meringue is wet, or wait for it to dry and paste fondant decorations, as in this case. Since we prepared the cookie lollipops for a Frozen themed party, we decided to decorate them with snowflakes. First we stretch the fondant and with the help of a cutter we cut the flakes, then we stick them to the Oreo-pops with a little water.

To finish with the presentation, we can put our Oreo-pops inside transparent bags and close by decorating with a blue bow.

Did you like these cookie lollipops ? They will surely be the hit of your next party!
